Andrew was born in 1963 and gained 1st class honours in Modern History at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge where he is an honorary senior scholar and Doctor of Philsophy. He has written or edited 12 books and regularly appears on radio and television across the world.

In 2011 NBC commissioned him to commentate on the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton after his well received broadcasts on the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, the Queen Mother and the wedding of Prince Charles to the Duchess of Cornwall.

He has written critically acclaimed historical books on Napoleon, the Duke of Wellington, World War 2 and the Churchill family. He received a number of awards for his recent bestsellers, Masters & Commanders and The Storm of War which reached number 2 in the Sunday Times bestsellers list.

Andrew lives in New York and writes for the Sunday Telegraph, Mail on Sunday, The Spectator and Wall Street Journal. He is available for speaking engagement in the USA.
