The medieval cycle of York Mystery Plays has been performed by the people of York across the centuries and is a world famous part of the city’s cultural heritage.
For the first time since 1988 the Plays will return to York Museum Gardens where a 1,400 capacity covered theatre auditorium will be constructed within the ancient walls of St Mary’s Abbey. With an audience of 28,000 over 1,000 volunteers, two casts of 300 and 2 professional actors, the York Mystery Plays 2012 is the biggest theatrical production York has seen for a decade.
The VIP package gives guests exclusive access to The Hospitium, a unique 14th Century listed building situated just a 2 minute walk from the theatre auditorium, where there will also be an opportunity to handle exclusive medieval objects from the Yorkshire Museum collections.
A fully inclusive package is available and includes the following for the 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th and 27th August.
